Jackson Case

Jackson Case was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he graduated with honors from the McCallie School.  He attended the University of Tennessee both for his undergraduate studies and legal studies, receiving his bachelor’s degree with honors in Political Science in 1990 and his law degree in 1993.

During law school, Mr. Case clerked for the Law Offices of James A. H. Bell P.C., and after graduation continued working with the firm.  At that time his primary focus was on the firm’s criminal defense practice, working with Mr. Bell to represent citizens accused of a wide variety of crimes in local, state, and federal courts throughout the state of Tennessee and beyond.  Mr. Case has tried many criminal cases in state and federal court with Mr. Bell.

In March of 2002, Mr. Case accepted a position with the John H. Daniel Company as General Counsel and Director of Human Resources.  In that position, Mr. Case was responsible for all legal and compliance issues arising from a 250-person workforce (with employees from 16 different countries) across various affiliated companies and properties.  During his tenure, he represented the company in various federal compliance hearings; unemployment (both in the United States and abroad) and worker’s compensation hearings; and in a broad range of general civil matters.  Mr. Case also handled the company’s immigration program, working to bring skilled workers into the United States.  Starting in 2008, Mr. Case took a more active role in the production end of the John H. Daniel Company, managing the company’s workforce and production on a day-to-day basis in addition to his regulatory, compliance, and legal duties.

In June of 2011, Mr. Case decided to return to the private practice of law and returned to The Law Offices Of James A.H. Bell P.C., focusing on a wide range of both criminal and civil legal matters, particularly in the white-collar arena.  As an experienced litigator, Mr. Case brings to the firm a wide variety of in-depth experience in the federal and state complex crimes arena, as well as a detailed understanding of federal and state regulatory and compliance issues.  Mr. Case is admitted to practice before all Tennessee state courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.  He is a member of the Knoxville Bar Association; the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; the Tennessee Bar Association; and the American Bar Association.
